Surface app: new battery level page and updated pen settings page
The Surface app is now getting better with significant updates allows you to check your Surface Pen, Surface Dial, and other compatible Microsoft accessories battery level on the go.
The Surface app is a must-have tool for every Surface owners for customizing their Surface device and Surface Pen. This app is installed by default on Surface devices and also available from Windows Store. This week Microsoft rolled out an update for this app to the version of 23.0.602.0.
The latest update introduced a new dedicated battery level page for Microsoft accessories and better Surface pen customization page.
Battery level for Microsoft accessories page
This is a new page which allows you to check your current battery level of your Surface Pen and compatible Microsoft accessories. The compatible Microsoft accessories include Surface Pen, Surface Dial, Surface Mouse, Surface Arc Mouse, and Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard.
This page will show up your list of your Bluetooth device a long with battery level in percentage and serial number if available. Make sure you have paired your devices properly if you can’t find your devices listed in the page.
Updated Pen Settings page
This page gets overall new design make easier for you to customize and test your preferred pen pressure sensitivity of your Surface Pen. It now has a better testing canvas with options of pen, pencil, and eraser tool. Moreover, pressure diagram to illustrate your testing in real-time.

Hey there,
I have fully connected my Pen via Bluetooth and am using it, but the Surface App says that it checked the battery 74 days ago which is fairly useless. How can I update the batterycheck manually? Can I even? Or what am I doing wrong?

You might need to reinstall the Surface app or reset its app data. To reset its app data:
1. Right-click on the Surface app > More > App settings.
2. Scroll to Reset section and click the Reset button.
Now reopen the Surface app and check again.
