Microsoft announced the Surface Go 2 on May 6, 2020, via a press release on Microsoft Devices Blog, with the same starting price as the original Surface Go at just $399. The entry model configuration has a new 8th Gen Intel® Pentium® Gold 4425Y, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage.
You can configure the tablet with up to Intel® Core™ M3-8100Y, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and optional LTE Advanced. It was available to preorder on May 6, 2020, and ready for order on May 12.
What’s new
Bigger and better 10.5” display
The Surface Go 2 has a larger 10.5-inch display with smaller screen bezels while retaining the same device footprint. It has thirteen percent more pixels, a higher screen resolution from 1800 x 1200 to 1920 x 1280, and a pixel density from 217 to 220 PPI.
The new display offers more space for note-taking and multitasking. Now, it can render websites within the viewport without horizontal scrolling as it frequently did in its previous generation.

According to Surface lifecycle documentation, Microsoft Surface Go 2 will reach the end of its driver and firmware updates on May 6, 2024. The company promises to support all Surface devices for at least four years starting from its release date.
