Surface Go 2 Firmware Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Go 2. The latest update is available for Surface Go 2 devices running Windows on October 10th, 2020 Update Version 20H2 or later.

The new firmware update addresses security vulnerability, improves system stability, enables support for new docking accessories, and improves Surface Dock2 stability. The update is listed as an “August 14 release” on the Surface Go 2 Update History page.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:
On Windows 11:
  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I) Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button Check for updates on Windows 11
On Windows 10:
  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security Windows 10 Settings > Update & Security
  2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates Windows 10 - Check for updates
If your Surface Go 2 didn't receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
