Surface Go Firmware Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Go. The new update is available as a "Gradual Roll-out" for all Surface Go devices running Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Version 1809, or later.

The new firmware update will addresses security updates and improves system stability. The update is listed as a “May 15 release” on the Surface Go Update History page.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:
On Windows 11:
  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I) Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button Check for updates on Windows 11
On Windows 10:
  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security Windows 10 Settings > Update & Security
  2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates Windows 10 - Check for updates
If your Surface Go didn't receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
