Surface Go 4 Firmware Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Go 4. The latest update is available for Surface Go 4 devices running Windows 10 October 2022 Update, Version 22H2, or later.

The new firmware update extends device security certificate authority. The update is listed as a “January 25 release” on the Surface Go 4 Update History page.

Microsoft has released a complete changelog for the latest updates, which includes the name and version listed in Windows Updates and Device Manager.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:

On Windows 11:

  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I)
    Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for Updates button.

On Windows 10:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security.

  2. From the Windows Update tab, click the Check for updates button.

If your Surface Go 4 didn’t receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
