Surface Go 4 February 2024 update is now live

Surface Go 4 Firmware Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Go 4. The latest update is available for Surface Go 4 devices running Windows 10 November 2021 Update, Version 21H2, or later.

The latest firmware update has resolved issues with audio devices and improved audio stability and performance, resulting in better interoperability with the Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock. The update is listed as a “February 28 release” on the Surface Go 4 Update History page.

Microsoft has released a complete changelog for the latest updates, which includes the name and version listed in Windows Updates and Device Manager.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:

Windows 11
Windows 10

On Windows 11:

Go to Start > Settings (Win + I)
Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for Updates button.

On Windows 10:

Go to Start > Settings > Update & security.
From the Windows Update tab, click the Check for updates button.

If your Surface Go 4 didn’t receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
