Surface 3 August 2016 update now rolling out

Microsoft is now rolling out the August update to Surface 3 devices to improve battery charging, the stability of the camera, pen settings, the on-screen keyboard in UEFI, and the proximity sensor for mobile broadband and Wi-Fi connections.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:
On Windows 11:
  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I) Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button Check for updates on Windows 11
On Windows 10:
  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security Windows 10 Settings > Update & Security
  2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates Windows 10 - Check for updates
If your Surface 3 didn't receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
