Surface Laptop Studio 2 Updates

Microsoft has released a firmware update for Surface Laptop Studio 2. The update is available for devices running Windows 10 September 2022 Update or later.

The new firmware update ensures seamless audio playback and recording, improves stability, prevents audio failures and dropouts, and addresses a potential issue that could unintentionally mute the device when using a Jabra Headset.

It addresses concerns regarding Bluetooth pairing when the device is on standby and improves device connectivity to Wi-Fi, among other things. The update is listed as a “May 08 release” on the Surface Laptop Studio 2 Update History page.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

The new Firmware Update can be obtained through Windows Updates with the following steps.

On Windows 11:

  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I)
    Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button.

On Windows 10:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security.

  2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates

If your Surface Laptop Studio 2 has not received the update yet, it should show up on the Windows Update list by now.
