Surface Laptop Studio 2 Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Laptop Studio 2.

The new firmware update addresses data collection regulatory requirements and updates the consent experience for data transmission and improves the device’s ability to connect with other devices through USB-C for direct peer-to-peer communication. Changelog for July 11, 2024 Updates

Microsoft has provided a complete changelog for the new updates, including the name and version listed in Windows Updates and the name listed in Device Manager.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

The new Firmware Update can be obtained through Windows Updates with the following steps.

On Windows 11:

  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I)
    Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button.

On Windows 10:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security.

  2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates

If your Surface Laptop Studio 2 has not received the update yet, it should show up on the Windows Update list by now.
