Microsoft has started rolling out September firmware updates for Surface Go 2 devices running Windows 10 May 2019 Update, version 1903 or later.
The new firmware updates will address critical security vulnerabilities and improve system stability. It also improves PXE boot performance and driver to support service with a new firmware update that will bump the version of Surface UEFI to 1.0.1.6. The update is listed as “September 09, 2021 release” on the Surface Go 2 Update History page.

Updating your Surface Go 2 via Windows Update
You can get this new Firmware Update by:
- Go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Update
- Click on Check for updates
If your Surface Go 2 didn’t have the update installed yet, it should appear on the Windows Update page now.
