The new release of Windows 10 April 2018 update seems unstable and cause many issues on Surface devices including the Surface Book 2. Today, Microsoft has rolled out a new firmware update to address the power management related to hibernation on Surface Book 2. This new firmware update will be available to Surface Book 2 devices running Windows 10 April 2018 update only.
The update should be listed as “09 May release” in the Surface Book 2 Update History page when it available. Below is the new driver version with improvement information for the update.

How to get Surface Book 2 May 2018 Firmware Update
You can get this new Firmware Update by:
- Go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Update
- Click on Check for updates
If your Surface Book 2 hasn’t yet installed the update, it should be displayed in the Windows Update now.
Either way, you can also download the latest cumulative driver and firmware update for Surface Book 2 from Microsoft Download Center with the following file:
- SurfaceBook2_Win10_17134_1802209_1.msi
