Surface Laptop SE Firmware Updates

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Laptop SE. The following updates are available for Surface Laptop SE devices running Windows 11 May 2021 Update, 21H2 or later.

The new firmware update addresses data collection regulatory requirements. The update is listed as a “February 23 release” on the Surface Laptop SE Update History page.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:
On Windows 11:
  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I) Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button Check for updates on Windows 11
On Windows 10:
  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security Windows 10 Settings > Update & Security
  2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates Windows 10 - Check for updates
If your Surface Laptop SE didn't receive the update, it should appear on the Windows Update list by now.
