Surface Laptop 6 June 2024 update is now rolling out

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Laptop 6. The latest update is available for Surface Laptop 6 for Business running Windows 10, Version 22H2 or later.

The new firmware update improves device’s ability to regulate temperature effectively when linked to a Surface Dock, optimizing performance and longevity and fixes an issue that incorrectly changed the form factor of the Notebook to that of a Convertible. The update is listed as a “June 06 release” on the Surface Laptop 6 Update History page.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

To download the latest Firmware Update, follow these instructions to access it through Windows Updates.

On Windows 11:

1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I)
   
2. Go to Windows Update and click on the “Check for updates” button
   

On Windows 10:

1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security.
   
2. From the Windows Update tab, click Check for updates
   

If your Surface Laptop 6 did not receive the update, it should now be available on the Windows Update list.
