You never mentioned any USB C Hubs which you can plug into the Surface Pro 7 which allows you to safely plug in an android phone (5 volt, 1 to 2 amp), into the hub which will give you pass through charging and data transfer from the phone to the Surface Pro 7. Any recommendations for such a USB C?
I have tried 4 different brands of hubs with 3 different chipsets. On all 4 of them, the ethernet will drop with a streaming load > 100Mbps on the internal network and will never recover, unless I unseat/reseat the hub, then it will eventually drop again. I have tried rtux64w10.sys from 2015, late 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 but no fix. It does work when surfing the internet though. The only thing that keeps working is the HDMI and Logitech Unifying receiver, even if the other vacant USB-A ports go to sleep. Even with a 65W PD attached these problems do not go away. Testing is not the same as recommending.
Tested – Lasuney, Novoo, QGeeM, Vava VA0YC010 8 port USB-C hubs – they all do not work in the same manner.
You have shown a bunch of USB-C hubs whose cords are way too short to use with the Surface Pro 7 unless it is flat on your desk. Perhaps you should recommend products that actually work for the user.
