The 2012 Surface RT features the quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 with the boost speed up to 1.40 GHz. While the 2013 Surface Pro 2 features the 15W 4th Generation Intel Haswell dual-core Intel Core i5-4200U up to dual-core Intel Core i5-4300U with the boost speed up to 2.90 GHz.
