Short for “Surface Qualcomm 2” or “Surface Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2.” Second-generation ARM64-based processor developed by Qualcomm in partnership with Microsoft based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 with improved performance and better battery life. The chip was shipped with the 2020 Surface Pro X.

The CPU has eight processing cores and Qualcomm® AI Engine to improve camera quality and audio clarity. The Surface Pro X with SQ2 chip lasts up to 15 hours of battery life, two hours longer than the 2019 Surface Pro X.
