InstantGo

A feature that allows Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 RT computers to turn on and off instantly and keep background services connected to the network even if the screen is off. It keeps live tiles, mail, video call, and other services up-to-date.

The feature was previously known as Connected Standby in Windows 8 and Windows RT. It required tight integration between hardware, drivers, and operating systems, so not every PC supports it. Fortunately, all Surface PCs support this feature, including the Surface RT.
