Surface Pro 5 December 2020 update now rolling out

Microsoft is now rolling out the December 2020 update to Surface Pro 5 devices to improves the application stability during playback.

Microsoft has started rolling out new firmware updates for Surface Pro 5. The following updates are available for all Surface Pro 5 devices running Windows 10 May 2019 Update, version 1903, or later.

The new firmware update will improves the application stability during playback. The update is listed as a “December 03 release” on the Surface Pro 5 Update History page.

Getting the Updates via Windows Update

You can get this new Firmware Update via Windows Updates, as we detailed here:
On Windows 11:
  1. Go to Start > Settings (Win + I) Open Settings app on Windows 11
  2. Go to Windows Update and click on the Check for updates button Check for updates on Windows 11
On Windows 10:
  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & security Windows 10 Settings > Update & Security
