I can’t fathom why a major company would not stick a decent i5 or i7 new Y-series into a laptop and make it fanless. A fan, by definition, will eventually wear out or get out of balance with dust. It’s inevitable…it will happen. When it does you are totally screwed unless you want to spend hours or hundreds of dollars to have it switched out. The performance chasm that once existed between Y and U processors is now a small divide. As long as a laptop will play 4K video, that’s all I need. It will be plenty fast for browsing and running Office. Not a gamer, never have been and never will be. Fanless is the future. Microsoft seems to have missed the memo.
